…the far-reaching decision on favor of the filioque. This has meant that the Holy Spirit has come to be understood solely as ‘the Spirit of Christ’, and not at the same time as ‘the Spirit of th Father’. As the Spirit of Christ it is the redemptive Spirit. But the work of creation too is ascribed to the Father, so the Spirit of the Father is also the Spirit of creation. If redemption is placed in radical discontinuity to creation, then ‘the Spirit of Christ’ has no longer anything to do with Yahweh’s ruach.
